DISINFOHACK (literally “hacking disinformation”) is a nationwide competition organized by NASK’s Disinformation Analysis Center (OAD). Participants take on the role of analysts investigating disinformation narratives and content circulating in the Polish-language infosphere.
The first edition of the competition was held in 2026 and brought together 20 teams of five students each. Over the course of nearly a month, participants worked under the guidance of experienced mentors.
The challenge involves analysing selected examples of disinformation content, including social media posts, podcasts, influencer-produced materials, AI-generated content, and websites used in influence operations. Based on their findings, teams prepare a professional analytical report summarizing the results of their investigation. This report-writing component constitutes the core of the competition and mirrors the type of work carried out by professional analysts in the field.
Held entirely online, DISINFOHACK enables students from across Poland to participate regardless of their location. The initiative seeks to strengthen analytical competencies and support the development of future specialists working to counter disinformation.
